Agence France-Presse reported that a 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey recently, according to the American Institute.

According to the US Geological Survey, an earthquake occurred in southern Turkey near the city of Gaziantep on Monday.

The earthquake occurred at 4:17 am (01:17 Moscow time) at a depth of about 17.9 km.

And Turkish news agency Anatolia said that another earthquake of magnitude 6.5, centered in the state of Gaziantep, hit southern Turkey at 04:36 Turkish time.
