Rita Ora herself declared that she was no longer available.
The 32-year-old pop artist revealed that she and her partner Taika Waititi got married during an interview with Heart Radio Breakfast to promote their new track, “You Only Love Me.”
The news comes five months after a source told PEOPLE that the couple had wed in a “very tiny” ceremony and after Waititi and Ora seemed to be wearing wedding bands on social media, which fuelled marriage speculations.
“Yes. When asked if she was married, Ora said, “Here we are. “They claim that everything occurs for a purpose. People, I’m officially off the market!
When Ora published a selfie of them cuddling in April 2021, the relationship between the singer and the director first became known. “Good times, memories, strange things on my phone, and the ones I love” was written beneath the picture.
In her most recent radio interview, Ora elaborated on the “beautiful” wedding, saying it was “absolutely, exactly how I wanted it.” Ora remembered that the proposal had been more of a “let’s just go for it” moment, whereas the wedding had been all she had hoped for with her spouse.
Ora remarked, “It was wonderful and perfect.” “Exactly the way I wanted it, sometimes just to myself. It was very scrumptious. I apologize, but it’s not that intriguing! I’ll host a sizable gathering sometime. I’ll decide when to throw a large party.
Ora revealed that her upcoming LP is her method of addressing the speculations surrounding their union in song. She added that she has yet to decide whether to adopt the Waititi last name. “You Only Love Me,” her debut single and music video, was released on Friday. Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Chelsea Handler, Addison Rae, Alexander Stewart, and Sharon Stone made the clip’s cameos.
When the rumors first surfaced, was she, or is she not? She said, “I wanted to play on it. “I wanted to have a wedding that wasn’t as expected… That doesn’t mean that’s exactly what happened, though. I experienced this encounter more privately but wanted to speculate on what might have been. This is the information I’m releasing to the world about what may have been.
A press release depicts the wedding in Ora’s latest music video for “You Only Love Me” as a combination of Alice in Wonderland and Stepford Housewives. The vibrant video is as chaotic as it can be on the wedding day and finishes in a real blaze. Even though this isn’t exactly how Ora’s wedding day unfolded, she hopes that this new age still accurately captures who she is as she “entered a new part of life.”
The journey was not always easy, but I’ve come out of it stronger and filled with more love than I ever thought possible, Ora said in a release. “Learning to let go of the past to make way for new experiences is a deeply personal process, and one I felt compelled to document through my music,” Ora said.
The third studio album by Ora will be her first release since Phoenix in 2018. Release information is still pending.
