The star of the Moroccan football club Widad Casablanca, Ayman Al-Khasuni, sent an impressive message to the fans of his team after an early exit from the Club World Cup held in Morocco.
Wydad said goodbye to the Club World Cup after losing in the quarter-finals to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal on penalties after regulation and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw.
Al-Hasuni posted a photo of himself from the Al-Hilal match on his personal account on Instagram and wrote: “My goal was to win this honorary title, from which we were (excluded) bitterly, despite all the efforts made, but this is football.
He added: “We have always been surprised by unexpected results. I hoped to once again raise the name of my country high, but the circumstances were not in our favor. Thanks to the amazing fans and thanks to everyone who supported me. during this period, and God willing, the next one will always be better.”
The competition is now limited to the current Club World Cup title between Al Hilal, Flamengo of Brazil, Egypt’s Al Ahli and Real Madrid of Spain.
Al-Hilal will face Flamengo tonight, Tuesday, in the first leg of the semi-final round, while Al-Ahly will face Real Madrid tomorrow, Wednesday, in the second leg of the same round.
