Algerian Football Federation spokesman Salah Bey Abboud announced that Algeria has officially submitted its candidacy to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after withdrawing it from Guinea.

“I am currently in Cairo and have just officially submitted Algeria’s bid for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations,” Saleh Bey Abboud told Algerian public radio.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.

“Our dossier is strong and stable. Unlike other dossiers, there are already operational facilities in Algeria,” Youth and Sports Minister Abdel Razzaq Sabbah was quoted as saying by the official news agency APS on Tuesday.

And Algeria announced in early October that it would submit its candidacy to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in place of Guinea, which had its right to host revoked due to unavailability of infrastructure.

The African Union will conduct inspection visits between 5 and 25 January 2023, prior to the announcement of the host country scheduled for 10 February 2023.
