Former adviser to the US Secretary of Defense, retired colonel Douglas McGregor, said that Ukraine is on the verge of defeat and that demographic problems call into question the continued existence of the Ukrainian state.
“Everyone in the US now knows that Ukraine is losing. Ukraine’s capabilities are collapsing. The Ukrainian state itself is in danger of disappearing – the situation is so bad, ”he said on the air of the Judging by Freedom YouTube channel.
He explained that the main problem of Kyiv is a serious demographic crisis, provoked by the migration of the population.
McGregor pointed out that about a quarter of the population, according to statistics from a demographic expert, has fled the country since the conflict began.
He added: “No one in the West is telling us the truth about the huge losses that Ukraine is suffering … Between 18 and 22 million people are left in the Ukrainian regions that are under Zelensky’s control. This number is almost equal to the population. Netherlands”.
Statistics from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees show that from February 24 to August 9, 2022, more than 10.5 million people left the territory of Ukraine, of which more than 4.4 million subsequently returned to their country. The agency’s report also states that Russia has accepted 1,968,127 Ukrainian refugees.
