Members of the Stop Rammstein association held a demonstration in Berlin against the supply of heavy weapons to Kyiv, and a contact group meeting in support of Ukraine was held at the Rammstein base in the German capital.

Demonstrators gathered on the main square of the German capital at the Brandenburg Gate in the city center, and later marched to the nearby US embassy.

Demonstrators chanted “Diplomats, not soldiers”, “No tanks in Ukraine” and “Send Burbuk to the front lines”, and raised banners and flags reading “This is America’s war against Germany” and “Seek a world without weapons”. “

According to the organizers of the demonstration, Germany, by its participation in the Council of States, which met at the American Ramstein base, “is deeply involved in the conflict in Ukraine.”

Speakers pointed out that reconnaissance flights have been conducted from the American base in Germany for many years near the Russian border, and the US Air Force nuclear arsenal is located against Russia.

The demonstrators demanded the acceleration of negotiations with Russia and diplomacy instead of supplying the conflict zone with tanks and heavy weapons.

On Friday, a meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine was held at the Ramstein airbase with the participation of defense ministers of about 50 countries, at which the next package of military assistance to Ukraine and the possible supply of tanks to Kyiv were discussed. The meeting was chaired by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Later that day, the media reported that at the meeting, the ministers could not agree on the supply of tanks to Ukraine.
