Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that his country intends to export at least 11.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe in 2023.

The President of Azerbaijan pointed out that the total volume of gas exports is 24 billion cubic meters per year.

During a working visit to Bucharest, Ilham Aliyev said that an agreement on partnership in the field of green energy was signed between Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia and Romania.

Earlier, Aliyev stated that gas supplies from Azerbaijan cannot compete with Russia in any way, since Azerbaijan’s reserves are not enough to cover the needs of Europe in the same volume.

It is known that Russia exported more than 140 billion cubic meters of gas per year through pipelines to Europe.
