In the coming days, US President Joe Biden will discuss with the leaders of Japan and the Netherlands the restriction of China’s access to semiconductor technology.

Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing an unnamed informed source, that the issue would form part of broader security discussions Biden would have with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte next Tuesday.

The source said no announcements of any technology agreement would be made during the two visits.

According to Bloomberg, Japan and the Netherlands have agreed in principle to some of the strict export restrictions imposed by the Biden administration.
