US President Joe Biden said the United States will ensure that Australia has an advanced nuclear submarine fleet.

At a joint press conference with Australian Prime Ministers Anthony Albanese and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at a naval base in California on Monday, he said “our nuclear submarines have a rich history of success.”

“other partnerships”

He also added: “We will be working on other partnerships to strengthen Australia’s defense fleet.”

He also added that “the Okus alliance will strengthen coordination on nuclear submarines with the UK and Australia.”

At the same time, he pointed out that “partnership with London and Canberra for the production of nuclear submarines will open many jobs.”

“Biggest Investment”

For his part, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called his country’s purchase of American nuclear submarines and its participation in the project to build a new generation of submarines “the largest military investment” in Australian history.

Albanese said the agreement with the US and UK was the “biggest investment” in Australia’s defense capability in its history.

Notably, Biden, Albanese and Sunak met at the San Diego base 18 months after their country formed the Okos coalition.
