British Chief of Staff Patrick Sanders confirmed that supplying Ukraine with Challenger 2 tanks would weaken the British army.

“Moving these tanks will temporarily make us weaker, there is no doubt about that,” Sanders was quoted as saying by the New York Times.

He pointed out that sending tanks would “leave a hole” in British stocks and make it difficult for the country to fulfill its obligations to “NATO”.

This decision caused concern in the British army.

The UK previously announced that it would provide Ukraine with 14 Challenger 2 tanks within weeks and step up its global diplomatic efforts to mobilize more weapons for the Kyiv regime forces.
