US President Joe Biden said that he considers it possible to establish working contacts with China, believing that this will benefit both countries in the future.
“I think there is a way to solve[the difficulties between the two countries]and build a relationship with China that will benefit both countries,” Biden said in an interview with CNN published Sunday.
The US President expressed confidence that Chinese President Xi Jinping is seeking to dislodge the United States from its position as the leading military and economic power in the world.
“I’m sure he wants the biggest economy in the world and the biggest military capability,” Biden said.
He also added that he does not see China’s desire for war or conflict with the United States or ambitions to expand its territory.
