Emma Stone to Star in Showtime Series “The Curse”
Introduction
Emma Stone will make her first appearance on a television show since the release of Maniac in 2018 when she stars in the new Showtime series The Curse. The whole notion upon which the show is based is hilarious. A newlywed couple faces the difficulties of adjusting to married life, the difficulty of attempting to conceive their first child, and the challenge of producing and starring in a program similar to that of HGTV called Flipanthropy. These challenges come at the same time the couple is also trying to conceive their first child. Did we mention that on top of all of that, the pair may or may not have been hexed by a curse? As if all of that weren’t bad enough. Flipanthropy now has a new producer, Benny Safdie, who is often frustrated by the production process. Both Safdie and his brother Josh are involved in producing The Curse in an executive capacity.

Creators of The Curse
Nathan Joseph Fielder is a comedian, actor, writer, director, producer, and entrepreneur from Canada. He is also known as Nathan Fielder. He is most known for co-creating, directing, and starring in the Comedy Central parody reality program Nathan for You (2013–2017) and the HBO docu-comedy The Rehearsal (2022–present), as well as executive producing How To alongside John Wilson (2020–present). Both of these shows have been extremely successful. In the year 2023, Fielder was recognized by Time magazine as one of the 100 most important persons all over the world. In 2019, it was announced that Fielder had signed an overall contract with HBO, under which he will star in, write for, and direct a separate comedy series and serve as an executive producer for the documentary series How To with John Wilson. The deal also included other perks. The comedy series “The Curse,” which starred Emma Stone, Benny Safdie, and Fielder, was picked up for production by Showtime in 2020. Fielder and Safdie were responsible for the series’ creation and writing. The Rehearsal was the name of another new comedy series set to premiere on HBO in 2021. In addition to appearing in the show, Fielder acted as the show’s writer, executive producer, and director. 2022 saw the release of The Rehearsal, which was met with widespread acclaim from reviewers.
Benjamin Safdie is an American film director, screenwriter, actor, and film editor most known for working in the film industry alongside his older brother Josh. His filmography as a director includes the titles Heaven Knows What (2014), Good Time (2017), and Uncut Gems (2019), among others. Safdie transitioned to acting and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his work in the film Good Time. Since then, he has taken on roles in films such as Licorice Pizza (2021), Are You There God? and more. It’s Oppenheimer and Me, Margaret, both from the year 2023. Showtime announced in December 2020 that it had given a series order to Safdie and Nathan Fielder’s half-hour series The Curse. Safdie and Fielder were the show’s creators. They will be starring in the series opposite Emma Stone, and Josh will serve as an executive producer for the project.
Trailer for ‘The Curse’
Even if a trailer for The Curse has not been released yet, it would be helpful to have a sneak peek at what the program will be like.
Plot of The Curse
The concept of The Curse, which centers on “how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show,” seems unlike anything currently airing on television. The tone of the program has been referred to as “genre-bending.” It deftly touches on class, race, and gentrification as Whitney and Asher grapple with the ethical consequences of inflicting their house-flipping services on a downtrodden hamlet in New Mexico. Fans of the Safdies and Nathan Fielder will likely find The Curse, a series about making a series called “Flipanthropy,” an absolute must-watch.
