Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sharply criticized US Ambassador to Ankara Jeff Flake amid the latter’s visit to Republican People’s Party leader and presidential rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Erdogan said in a speech during the opening of the projects in Istanbul: “I urge the US Ambassador to Turkey not to go beyond his limits and to comply with the duties of his office.”
He added, “In the upcoming elections, we have to teach the United States a lesson,” noting that “(US President Joe) Biden is speaking from there (from the United States) and his ambassador is here. What is he doing? “He goes to visit Kemal (Kylychdar oglu) … This is a shame.”
