Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he is in constant contact with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and intends to continue his efforts to organize talks between them.
In his speech at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkish States, Erdogan added: “For a fair and peaceful end to the Ukrainian conflict, we continue our diplomatic efforts. I am in constant contact with Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky. We will continue to work hard to the end to bring both sides back to the negotiating table.”
Moscow has repeatedly confirmed its readiness to negotiate with the Ukrainian authorities, but Kyiv passed a law prohibiting them. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the G20 summit that “there will be no Minsk agreements-3”. For their part, Western countries are urging Russia to negotiate, but ignoring Kyiv’s persistent refusal to negotiate.
