EU Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell said that the European Peace Fund has already compensated the EU countries 450 million euros for the supply of ammunition to Ukraine.

Borrell said: “The European Peace Fund has returned about 450 million euros to the member states of the European Union for the ammunition that was delivered to Ukraine.”

Right now, “combat operations are very expensive in terms of artillery ammunition,” Borrell said. “It’s tens of thousands of shells every day.”

According to Borrell, the EU needs to speed up the supply, noting that “every day, ammunition comes from EU countries to Ukraine. This is a continuous stream. But it must be increased, it must be delivered faster and in greater quantities.” “

Earlier, Russia sent a memorandum to NATO on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that any supply of weapons to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine, and Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that the infusion of weapons from the West to Ukraine is not conducive to the success of Russia-Ukraine negotiations and will have a negative impact.
