Modder Releases First-Person Mode for The Last of Us Part 1

A modder named Voyagers Revenge has recently introduced a new first-person mode for The Last of Us Part 1 on PC. This modification allows players to experience the popular Naughty Dog video game as a first-person shooter adventure. In a video showcasing the mod, the creator demonstrates the progress made in developing this innovative way of reliving the iconic story of Joel and Ellie.

Intense Gameplay Experience

The video captures gameplay footage played on Realistic+ difficulty, with increased ammo and crafting resources. The absence of the heads-up display and viewfinder enhances the breathtaking visuals. Furthermore, the video description states that no aim assistance was utilized. It has been reported that the mod will incorporate additional on-screen elements to compensate for the change in perspective, ensuring accessibility and clarity are not compromised.

Variety of Encounters and Impressive Cutscenes

The video showcases various encounters throughout the game, including intense gameplay segments set in Pittsburgh and Bill City. These areas pose greater challenges due to the presence of enemies. Additionally, the video features third-person cutscenes, showcasing the technical prowess achieved by Naughty Dog. However, the video primarily demonstrates the protagonist shooting “from the hip”, raising questions about the implementation of precise aiming.

Paid-Only Mod Access

To download the mod, players must join Voyagers Revenge’s Patreon community. By doing so, they gain access to the mod as well as an uncensored version of the accompanying trailer. It is important to note that this mod is only available for purchase.

Continual Patch Updates

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog remains dedicated to improving the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 and has released several patches, with the latest being version 1.1.1.
