Ophthalmologists have been talking about the epidemic of myopia since 2015, because the number of children and adolescents suffering from myopia is increasing, and by 2050 it is expected to exceed 4.5 million people.

Dr. Gergana Stoyanova, an ophthalmologist, notes that in order to maintain good vision, simple rules must be followed.

According to her, first of all, you need to organize a workplace and choose a comfortable chair. You should also pay attention to lighting, as the light of the lamp should not be directed at the computer screen.

And she says: “The screen light should not be very different from the ambient light, that is, it is not recommended to work in the dark when the computer is turned on alone. Rather, there should be moderate daylight.”

According to her, the computer should be at arm’s length (50-70 cm from the person). It is also necessary that the computer screen is at eye level. It is also important to pay attention to the size and clarity of the letters so that the text is easy to read.

The doctor points out the need to perform eye exercises during work in order to relieve tension, strengthen the muscles of the eyelids, and reduce the risk of developing myopia. These exercises:

Close your eyes tightly for 3-5 seconds. Then open it for a few seconds. Repeat this exercise 6-8 times.

Blink rapidly for 10-15 seconds, then rest for 10 seconds and repeat the exercise 3-4 times.

Close your eyes and massage your eyelids with your index finger in a circular motion for one minute.

Look far ahead for a few seconds, and then raise the finger of your right hand up from the nose by 25-30 cm. After that, look at the finger and look at its end for 3-5 seconds, then lower your hand and repeat the exercise 10-12 times.
