History professor Ahmed El-Sawi confirmed that “the mistrust on the part of some astute people”, pointing out that the issue is entirely related to the Chinese balloon incident, from the moment it “penetrated” American airspace, to the reaction after it was hit. down into the ocean.
The former leader of the Nasserist party said in a statement to RT: “The first thing that comes to mind is that the operation of a balloon of such enormous size, regardless of the purpose of its launch, had to undergo precise calculations, especially those related to wind directions. and how to change them, how to manage it and restore it when necessary. The Chinese calculate such common truths.”
He pointed out that Beijing’s claim that force majeure pushed the airship into US airspace was hard to believe and accept.
Al-Sawi pointed out that, in addition to this, the fact that the US authorities monitored the movement of the balloon and its roaming over several states 3 days before the American plane fired a missile (worth 400 thousand dollars) at it, and did not move finger until Americans, including members of Congress, began to complain about the wandering balloon and demand action against it.
The Pentagon also tried to cover up the case, but the leak and public and legislative engagement with it prompted Biden to decide to shoot down the balloon.
The Pentagon was silent for 72 hours
Al-Sawi added: “The funny thing is that the Pentagon, having not uttered a word for 72 hours, later said that it was afraid of the consequences of dropping it over an American city,” and the tone was raised on the US military official’s claim that it was an air spy balloon that conducted reconnaissance over vital American installations.
From the context of the information and the string of statements, it appears that Washington referred to the balloon as a “test balloon” for something, and given the satellites that Beijing owns, completely ruled out whether it was a spy balloon or that it monitors vital important targets, otherwise it would have been shot down as soon as it entered US airspace, according to Al-Sawi.
And he continued: “The picture is completed by the sharp and threatening statements made by Beijing after the balloon crash, as it promised that it would act in a similar way regarding incidents like the crash of a balloon due to force majeure. “
In response to China’s claims that the balloon was launched for civilian purposes related to climate research, the Pentagon responded by emphasizing that it was a spy balloon and that experts were taking away its remains for analysis.
Distant Chinese target
Al-Sawi believed that the conclusion here was that China, speaking in a harsh tone, and even with air and sea fights, against the invasion of American warships and the flight of American aircraft into areas bordering Taiwan, decided to draw Washington into the capture violent action against the airship to set a precedent on which it relies to act in the same way against AWACS aircraft that monitor the Chinese mainland and any approach to Chinese territorial waters, including waters off Taiwan.
It appears that the Pentagon was counting on this and then did not want to declare or object to the 3 day balloon it was entertaining in United States airspace, but the maneuvers of the opposition and the effectiveness of the media and social communications forced the Pentagon to drop balloon and justify delaying a decision on fear that its wreckage would harm the population, but some continued to promote that military experts feared that the Chinese airship could be carriers of epidemic viruses.
The history professor said Beijing had achieved its goal and had a pretext and precedent to justify its shooting down planes or bombing American battleships as soon as they entered what Beijing considered its vital zone.
Thus, American provocations have a limit to be adhered to and a ceiling to move under.
