Ultra-nationalist, far-right extremist and racist politician Rasmus Paludan announced that he would again burn a copy of the Quran, this time in Denmark, on Friday.
In a message posted to Instagram on Thursday, Paludan, the leader of the Hard Line party, said he would burn the holy book of Muslims in front of a mosque in Dortevej, Copenhagen.
Identifying as a Christian in a “Christian country”, Paludan said he would bring a match and a book to burn.
Over the weekend, Paludan burned a copy of the Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm, drawing condemnation around the world.
This was followed by a similar incident when Dutch politician Edwin Wagensveld, head of the far-right PEGIDA, tore the pages out of a holy book before setting them on fire.
Turkey has sharply criticized Sweden, which is currently in the process of joining NATO, and has suspended trilateral talks with Finland and Sweden due to Stockholm’s complicity and allowing a disrespectful demonstration.
