The Jordanian Public Security Directorate has announced new developments in its investigation into the Husseiniya incident, in which a high-ranking public security officer was killed after the last suspect in the case turned himself in to law enforcement.

Media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate, Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, said that the investigation identified 11 people who are members of the Al-Husseiniya terrorist cell that killed Colonel Abdul Razzaq Al-Dalabeh, and 3 security personnel.

The media representative added that most of the cell members were dealt with or arrested and taken to the state security court, with the exception of two brothers who went into hiding.

The first was killed a few days ago during a clash with special forces, accompanied by his brother, another escaped from a correctional and rehabilitation center, and the last member of the cell surrendered to police on Tuesday evening. preventive security and is under investigation in preparation for his transfer to the judiciary.

The media spokesman stressed that the Jordanian security services continue to enforce the rule of law for all and to strike harshly and without complacency with an iron fist against anyone who tries to harm the security of the country and the security of its citizens.

Significantly, a Dalabeh officer was shot dead in the Husseiniya district of Ma’an province in December 2022 while fighting a riot by a group of vandals and criminals.
