The star of the Al-Ahly club and the former Egyptian national football team, Mohamed Abu Trika, commented on the progress of the Moroccan national team to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after defeating Portugal.
Abu Trika said in a televised statement: “Morocco has done us the honor, but is there anything else? Now we dream of an Arab team that will win the World Cup.”
The Moroccan national team scored a surprise victory over their Portuguese counterpart, scoring an unanswered goal last Saturday night at the Al-Tumama Stadium in the Qatari capital Doha.
Morocco became the first Arab and African team in history to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
And the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team, Yassin Bunu, became the first African goalkeeper to keep 3 matches to zero in one World Cup.
The Moroccan national team will face their French counterpart in the semi-finals next Wednesday at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.
