Dubai Government Press Office announced today Sunday that flydubai will add 29 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft with a book value of AED12.94 billion over 4 years.
The office added that flydubai will take delivery of 17 new Boeing 737 Max aircraft this year, bringing the total fleet to 88 aircraft by the end of 2023, Reuters reported.
flydubai CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith told Al-Arabiya on the sidelines of the Arab Travel Market in Dubai that the company has surpassed pre-pandemic levels, in addition to increasing the number of new aircraft by 33 before post-pandemic service.
Last January, Flydubai announced that it would resume flights to Shymkent International Airport starting February 28 with two flights a week.
With the launch of flights to Shymkent, flydubai’s network in Kazakhstan is expanding to include three destinations: Almaty and the capital Astana, in addition to Shymkent.
Geith Al Geith, CEO of flydubai, said: “Kazakhstan has always been an important market since we first started flying to Almaty in 2014. 2014. 2019 and we look forward to new commercial and cultural relationships when flights to Shymkent begin.”
