On Sunday, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip generously donated blood to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

“This campaign is a show of solidarity with the Turkish and Syrian peoples,” said Iyad al-Masri, executive director of the Al-Amal Orphan Institute, which organized the blood drive.

“What is happening in Turkey and Syria affects the entire Arab and Islamic nation,” he added.

Under the One Body theme, al-Masri said the day trip “sends a message of love and peace to everyone.”

More than 29,000 people have been killed and more than 80,000 injured in two major earthquakes that hit southern Turkey last Monday, according to the latest official figures.
