Today, Thursday, Hezbollah militia leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened to spread chaos across the region, pointing out that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could push for an escalation across the region.
In a speech published by Hezbollah media, Nasrallah said: “If America plans chaos in Lebanon, you will lose and you will expect chaos in the entire region. We will point our weapons at the hand that hurts you, which is your protégé, Israel. .”
“No delay is allowed.”
He added that the party would never allow a delay in extracting oil from Lebanese waters.
He also added: “I caution against any delay in extracting oil from water, and Americans should be told to stay away from this issue.”
In late October 2022, a Lebanese militia leader announced that his forces were committed to what the Lebanese state had agreed to regarding the recent agreement signed with Israel.
“No need to use scare language”
He added that there was no need to use the language of betrayal, given that the party was behind the completion of the maritime agreement with Israel.
His statements came at that time, a few days after the party announced the end of its mobilization, after the meeting of all Lebanese and Israeli delegations in one room in Ras al-Naqur, in southern Lebanon, where they signed a historic agreement on the demarcation of the maritime borders. US-brokered borders between the two countries.
The announcement came after indirect approval from Hezbollah, which considered the signing of the agreement “a great victory for the country.”
years of negotiations
Remarkably, reaching consensus and signing an agreement has not been easy, as negotiations that began in 2020 stumbled several times before accelerating from early June last year following the arrival of a production and storage vessel near the Karish field, which Lebanon is believed to be on disputed territory.
However, according to the new agreement, the Karish field has completely gone to the Israeli side, and the Qana field, which crosses the demarcation line separating the two sides, to the Lebanese side.
