Dr. Evgeny Arzamastsev, a Russian nutritionist, said that apples are good for the elderly because they contain substances that have a tonic effect.

And in a TV interview, the doctor points out that apples have a lot of advantages, because in addition to the stimulating effect, they have a positive effect on the digestion process and help maintain iron levels in the blood in people over 60 years old.

According to him, apples contain a high percentage of vitamins and iron. Apples can also be eaten to boost immunity. In addition, sour and sweet-and-sour apples are not high in sugar.

In addition to all this, apples improve the functioning of the digestive system, so if an elderly person does not suffer from gastritis, apples are useful for him to improve the digestion process.

And the expert adds that apples contain a high percentage of dietary fiber and pectins, which improve intestinal motility and fight constipation, which elderly people often suffer from.
