FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the revenue from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar was $7.5 billion, $1 billion more than the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Today, Friday, the President of the International Federation of Football Associations thanked Qatar for presenting the best version of the World Cup ever, noting that the FIFA Council unanimously praised the current version of the World Cup.
He emphasized that football has already united the world, and the current version is a great success.
Infantino said that 5 billion viewers around the world have watched the matches of the World Cup in Qatar to date.
He disclosed earnings from the World Cup in Qatar, which amounted to $7.5 billion, one billion more than the previous season.
He explained that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar has so far hosted 62 matches without any disturbance or abuse.
He noted that hosting World Cup matches in November and December has a positive impact.
Infantino confirmed that there are fewer red and yellow cards for the World Cup in Qatar than in the previous version.
He said: “We need to re-discuss the number of teams that will be included in the groups for the next World Cup.”
