The Indian Ministry of Defense has announced the successful test launch of a short-range ballistic missile it has named Prithvi-2.
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement: “This missile has proven to be effective and is an integral part of India’s nuclear deterrent. The missile hit the target with high accuracy.”
The Brihvi-2 missile is one of a series of surface-to-surface ballistic missiles in service with the Indian armed forces.
The Berhvi-2 missile is capable of hitting targets with a range of up to 250 km and can carry a warhead weighing up to 500 kg.
