The Sudanese army statement added: “The enemy, who received a decisive punishment from our forces, was defeated and suffered huge losses in personnel, equipment, equipment and weapons, which are still being counted, and the pursuit of the remnants of the fleeing militias continued until this evening.”
For its part, the Rapid Support Forces announced on Monday evening that they had taken control of most of the headquarters of the armored camp in Khartoum in heavy fighting with the Sudanese army.
The Rapid Support Forces said that during the fighting aimed at controlling the camp of the armored corps, they received a large amount of ammunition, military equipment and armored vehicles.
Violent clashes continue between the army and the Rapid Support Forces around and inside the headquarters of the armored forces, in the Al-Shajar area, south of the capital.
Fighting since Sunday morning has left dozens of people dead and wounded on both sides amid reports of heavy civilian casualties from heavy, indiscriminate air and ground bombing of residential areas close to armored headquarters.
And while the army said on Sunday it had repulsed the Rapid Support Forces attack, the latter released videos showing significant progress in taking control of the camp, which is one of three main headquarters still under army control.
The Rapid Support Forces have taken control of 7 strategic headquarters in the capital since the outbreak of hostilities in Sudan in mid-April.
