Iran and Saudi Arabia Working to Develop Tourism Relations and Abolish Visas

Introduction

Iranian Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Maryam Jalali Dehkerdi, has announced the continuation of efforts between Iran and Saudi Arabia to develop tourism relations and abolish visas between the two countries.

Exchange of Ideas

Maryam Jalali Dehkerdi, who is currently in the Saudi capital Riyadh to attend World Tourism Day events, added that ideas were exchanged with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism for International Relations and Foreign Tourism, Sultan Al Musallam, on ways to remove obstacles that hinder the development of tourism relations between the two countries.

Invitation to Visit Iran

Dehkerdi also extended an invitation to the Saudi Arabia’s tourism minister, Jalali, to visit Iran.

World Tourism Day in Riyadh

World Tourism Day took place in Riyadh, where more than 500 officials and experts from 120 countries gathered for the event.

Resumption of Bilateral Relations

Last March, Iran and Saudi Arabia announced an agreement to resume bilateral relations between the two countries at the initiative of China. The two countries restored their diplomatic relations after a break of 7 years.
