The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) unveiled its ideal roster for 2022 on Wednesday, featuring 11 of the most prominent players from last year’s starring role.

The team was aware of the dominance of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid: 3 players from each team, as well as two players from Manchester City and one player each from Bayern, Leipzig and Liverpool.

The team included Arab player Ashraf Hakimi, the star of the Moroccan national team and the Paris team, who proved last year that he is the best in the world in his position (right back) with his performance with the Paris team or with the Atlas Lions during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

His Argentine colleague Lionel Messi was present after his brilliant performance in the French national team and also led his country to victory at the World Cup in Qatar.

On the other hand, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo was absent from that team after his level dropped significantly and his participation at Manchester United was meager in the first half of the season.

The ideal squad for last year, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics, looked like this:
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois (Belgium – Real Madrid)

Defense: Ashraf Hakimi (Morocco – PSG), Jasko Guardiol (Croatia – Leipzig), Virgil Van Dijk (Netherlands – Liverpool), Alphonso Davis (Canada – Bayern).
Midfield: Luka Modric (Croatia – Real Madrid), Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium – Manchester City), Lionel Messi (Argentina – Paris Saint-Germain).

Forward: Erling Haaland (Norway and Dortmund – Manchester City), Karim Benzema (France – Real Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (France – Saint-Germain).
