The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia said that the amount of investment in the food industry of the kingdom is more than 110 billion rials.
The ministry indicated that investments account for 7.6% of total investment in the industrial sector, explaining that food processing enterprises provide 155,898 jobs.
The ministry said the industrial sector has outstanding capabilities in many fields, especially in the field of food products, the most important of which are dairy products, poultry, oils, dates, pastries and others, Al-Eqtisadiah reported.
She noted that the great potential of the sector has greatly contributed to the flow of these products to various regions of the Kingdom, and also facilitated their export to regional and international markets.
She said that the Ministry attaches particular importance to the food sector as it is one of the important sectors that has seen significant growth since the beginning of this year, which confirms the importance of moving forward in increasing the pace of investment in this sector in order to achieve food security in the Kingdom and meet the needs of citizens and residents.
