On Thursday, the Kremlin said Western countries sending tanks to Kyiv were “directly involved” in the conflict.
On Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the collective involvement of the United States and Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine is intensifying.
Peskov told reporters: “There are constant statements from European capitals and from Washington that the sending of various weapons systems to Ukraine, including tanks, in no way means the involvement of these countries or NATO in hostilities in Ukraine.”
He added: “We strongly disagree with this view in Moscow and we see everything that NATO and the capitals you mentioned are doing as direct involvement in the conflict and we see it escalating.”
On Wednesday, Germany decided to support Ukraine with some of its Leopard 2 tanks and allow other countries to send their tanks.
US President Joe Biden promised to send American Abrams tanks to Kyiv.
