The soldiers of the Kyiv troops complained about the difficult conditions in which they live, and low morale in their ranks, according to the news portal “Toronto Star”.
“I’m seriously injured and my back hurts,” one of the soldiers said on condition of anonymity. “Now, after four operations, I would like to retire, but I can’t. They still want me to fight back.” .”
On a financial level, the soldier indicated that he barely gets his daily bread and expenses due to the low pay he receives for military service, and noted that morale has been deteriorating lately.
Sergeant Artyom Pavlin also spoke about a number of problems he faced on the front lines, pointing out the constant feeling of anxiety due to the lack of experience among officers, and stressed that often untrained soldiers without the necessary weapons are sent to attack.
At the end of May, the American Wall Street Journal revealed that Kyiv pushed untrained forces suffering from a clear lack of equipment into a “meat grinder” during the battles for the city of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
The newspaper reported that “the leadership of the Kiev troops mobilized citizens from the villages of the northeastern Kharkov province, handed rifles and old military clothes to the soldiers and sent them to Artemovsk, and some of them wanted to refuse to complete the task due to the lack of necessary training, but they did not were able to do this, because their officers told them: I will teach you to fight in Bakhmut.
