Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived on Monday morning in South Africa on an official visit, during which he will discuss a number of issues of mutual interest and international problems with the country’s foreign minister.
According to TASS, the plane with the minister landed early Monday morning at the Waterkloof airbase on the outskirts of Pretoria.
Lavrov is scheduled to meet with South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor and President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Among the issues discussed is preparations for the second summit and the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, which will be held from 26 to 29 July in St. Petersburg, Russia. How many will exchange views on the common bilateral agenda and major events in the international arena. In addition to discussing issues related to the BRICS countries, in addition to working together on other international platforms.
Lavrov last met with his colleague Bandor in September on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, where both sides confirmed their common interest in deepening political dialogue and further building a full range of strategic partnership relations.
