Today, Thursday, the Lebanese Ministry of Energy released a new fuel price chart that showed a significant increase in prices against the back of a rise in the dollar on the (parallel) black market.
According to the price table, the price of 95 octane petrol has increased by £40,000 and 98 octane by £42,000, the price of diesel has increased by £41,000 and the price of a LPG bottle has increased by 26,000 Lebanese pounds. .
Liquid fuel prices became as follows: 95 octane canister: 1,200,000 pounds, 98 octane canister: 1,228,000 pounds, diesel fuel canister: 1,238,000 pounds, gas tank: 760,000 pounds.
Notably, Lebanese fuel prices have been pegged to the parallel black market since September 2022, after the Central Bank decided to completely stop providing dollars for fuel imports.
