Liverpool suffered a massive 3-1 defeat at the hands of their guest Brentford in the match that took place between them tonight, Monday, as part of the opening of the 19th round of the English Premier League.

The home team pushed ahead with a goal that came on “friendly fire” scored by French defender Ibrahima Konate in the 19th minute, while the Congolese striker doubled the score in the 42nd minute of the first half.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain closed the gap to the Reds by the 50th minute, but Cameroonian striker Brian Mbeumo extended the gap again with Brentford’s third goal in the 84th minute.

Liverpool’s credit for scoring this impressive defeat has stopped at 28 points from 17 matches and is currently sixth in the Premier League table.

While the Brentford club increased their score to 26 points, which they won in 18 matches and so far climbed to seventh place in the standings.
