The Liverpool team suffered a humiliating three-goal unanswered defeat by their host Wolverhampton in a match that brought them together tonight, Saturday, in the 22nd round of the English Premier League.

The home team advanced with a goal that came on friendly fire from Cameroonian defender Joel Matip against his Red team early in the sixth minute after the kick-off whistle.

Defender Craig Dawson doubled the lead in the 12th minute, and then his Portuguese counterpart Robin Neves scored a third goal in the 71st minute of the meeting, which took place at the Molineux Stadium.

Liverpool have suffered their third defeat in their last 4 matches to one draw, and their seventh this season, to halt at 29 points and drop to tenth in the Premier League table.

While the Wolverhampton club achieved a second victory in their last three matches and moved from seventeenth to fifteenth in the league standings with 20 points.
