Brazilian star Roberto Firmino, a newcomer to Saudi Arabian football club Al-Ahli Jeddah from Liverpool, was greeted by Al-Raqa fans boisterously upon his arrival at the training headquarters.

Al-Ahli Jeddah began training on Thursday in preparation for the new season under Saudi coach Youssef Anbar until a contract with a foreign coach is secured.

Firmino was pleased to have watched the training session from the stands of the stadium in the presence of Al Ahli Jeddah chief Khaled Al Essa, as well as his compatriot Viktor Simos, a former Al Ahly Jeddah professional.

A large number of Al Ahly fans gathered around Firmino to take a souvenir photo with the Brazilian star.

The training session was also attended by Syrian international Omar Al-Soma, who returned to the club after the end of his loan spell at Al-Arabi Al-Qatari.

Al-Ahli Jeddah’s training sessions will continue at the club’s headquarters until it’s time to head to the overseas camp in Slovenia.
