The Israeli General Security Agency announced the arrest of two young men from the village of Mu’awiyah in the country a few weeks ago on suspicion of “an attempted bombing operation led by Hamas.”
The Maariv newspaper reported that the Shin Bet arrested two young men, Muhammad Amin Musleh (24) and Muhammad Fayyad Mahamid (28), for questioning by the Israeli police.
And it claimed that “the Shin Bet investigations revealed that Musleh was recruited from the infrastructure of Hamas activists in Gaza to carry out the bombing of Israel, and then recruited by his friend Mohammed Fayyad Mahamid.”
“The two proceeded to collect information about the bus station for the soldiers, carried out test firing and found the stolen car,” the report said.
Several times they checked various bus stops along the road between Kafr Qara and Givat Ada, and along Route 65, when they finally decided to attack soldiers at a bus stop near the Golani brigade training base.
She indicated that the base was in the Kafr Qara area, and the decision was made to carry out the operation when the station was overwhelmed with Israeli army soldiers, especially on Thursday.
She warned that the results of the investigation had been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, and serious charges were brought against Muhammad Amin Musleh and Muhammad Fayyad Mahamed for allegedly “committing serious security violations.”
