Gold prices fell in trading today, Wednesday, amid the market’s anticipation of a statement by US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell in the US House of Representatives.

And by 10:29 Moscow time, futures for the precious metal fell 0.08% to $1,946.40 an ounce.

While spot contracts for the metal fell 0.10% to $1934.40 an ounce, according to Bloomberg data.

In the foreign exchange market, the dollar index, which measures the behavior of the US currency against a basket of major currencies, rose slightly by 0.2% to 102.56 points.
