Yesterday, Saturday, Argentine star Lionel Messi officially signed a contract until 2025 with American club Inter Miami.
Messi is expected to feature in an Inter Miami jersey for the first time next Friday against Mexico’s Cruz Azul in the League Cup, which includes American League and Mexican League clubs.
Inter Miami coach Gerardo Martino of Argentina expressed his great joy that his compatriot Messi officially joined the team.
“First of all, we are delighted that Messi has signed his new contract,” Martino said. “Today he is officially one of our players and he will be introduced today. Inter Miami will officially unveil Messi on Sunday night at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
