The McDonald’s restaurant group said it plans to relinquish some positions in the group’s management despite expanding the opening of new branches to meet demand.
The company added that it will discuss freezing some recruitment initiatives as well as reviewing some administration vacancies, and it is expected to complete that review on April 3 next year.
The company said the new strategy will help the group reduce global costs and increase the sources of growth within the group.
Layoffs continue around the world, especially at tech companies that continue to lay off employees amid the ongoing crisis since last year, and the starting point in 2023 was Amazon CEO Andy Jesse’s announcement that 18,000 of its 1.5 million employees will be fired.
