The American media reported, citing informed sources, that aides to US President Joe Biden found a new set of confidential documents in one of the offices where Biden worked.
A source told NBC that after discovering the first set of classified documents in one of Biden’s offices last November, his aides began looking for other classified materials that may have been in other offices.
The source did not provide any details about the new group of documents, and did not indicate the place of their discovery, their number, nature and level of secrecy.
The White House and the US Department of Justice did not comment on the information about the new package of documents.
The White House confirmed that about 10 secret documents were found in one of Biden’s private offices dating back to the period when he was US Vice President.
The Justice Department is considering launching an investigation into the storage of confidential documents outside the National Archives.
