The Pakistani authorities have announced a blocking of the Wikipedia website in Pakistan after the service refused to comply with the authorities’ request to remove “infidel” and offensive content to Islam.

According to Bloomberg, the Pakistani government blocked Wikipedia’s services after the platform failed to remove “incorrect” content. Earlier, the country’s Communications Authority asked the site’s management to remove “incorrect” content within 48 hours.

It should be noted that the government will consider unblocking the site if Wikipedia meets its requirements.

It is worth noting that Pakistani laws allow the death penalty for those convicted of insulting Islam.
