The British newspaper The Sun, citing a source in the British government, reported that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had decided to deploy a company of Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.

The newspaper adds that a batch of four Challenger 2 tanks will be delivered “immediately” to Eastern Europe, with eight more tanks to be delivered shortly thereafter.
Earlier, the Sky News channel, citing sources, reported that for the first time since the start of the Russian special military operation, the UK is exploring the possibility of supplying Britain with Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.
For its part, the Guardian offered to make an official statement on the matter next Monday.
Earlier, Russia sent a memorandum to NATO countries regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
The Kremlin has repeatedly stated that the injection of weapons into Ukraine from the West is not conducive to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative impact and ignite the conflict.
