Croatia captain Luka Modric expressed his regret over his team’s 3-0 loss to Argentina in the match that brought them together last night, Tuesday, in the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.

Modric said in statements after the match: “This is the worst referee I have ever seen (Italian Daniele Orsato). I’m not saying this because we lost, but it’s true.”

And the 37-year-old Croatian star continued: “We were the better side in the match until the referee awarded an incorrect penalty to Argentina.”

And Luka Modric continued: “I hope Lionel Messi gets the World Cup crown because he is the best in history.”

The Argentina national team in the final is waiting for the winner of the confrontation, which tomorrow evening, Wednesday, will bring together the teams of France and Morocco at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

While the Croatian national team, which took second place in the Russia 2018 World Cup, will compete for third place with the loser next Saturday at the Khalifa International Stadium in the capital Doha.
