Nepalese authorities have handed over the bodies of 22 of the 72 people aboard the ATR 72 that crashed near Pokhara on Sunday to their families.

The bodies of the remaining victims will be moved to the capital, Kathmandu, and a search is underway for two bodies that are still missing, according to Nepalese authorities.

It is noteworthy that Yeti Airlines flight ATR 72, en route from the capital Kathmandu to Pokhara with 72 passengers on board, crashed on Sunday in the area between the old and new Pokhara airports.

The Nepalese authorities have formed an investigation committee to investigate the causes of the plane crash, and it is expected to submit a report within 45 days after completing the analysis of the black box records.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the crash was probably a technical malfunction.
