The Investigative Committee of Russia reported on new facts of ill-treatment of prisoners of war in Ukraine, including breaking out the teeth of prisoners, preventing food and sleep.
The committee recorded new facts of bullying of Russian prisoners, as one of them was interrogated, for example, for 10 days without food and sleep, and the other had broken upper teeth, as stated in the report. The investigative committee published this on the official channel of the investigative committee in the Telegram app.
The report goes on to say: “The Investigative Committee of Russia has recorded other cases of inhuman treatment of Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine, where the staff of the Investigative Committee will give a legal assessment to each case separately.”
It is noteworthy that thanks to the efforts of the Russian Ministry of Defense, a prisoner exchange was carried out, and Russian soldiers who returned from captivity spoke about the ill-treatment they were subjected to by extremist Ukrainian nationalist elements, and it was confirmed that the Russian Investigative Committee recorded their testimony.
According to one Russian prisoner of war, he was repeatedly beaten during interrogations in captivity, as a result of which his upper teeth were completely knocked out, and he could not “see who hit him because his head was covered with a garbage bag.”
Another soldier said that he was blindfolded with tape and his interrogation lasted 10 days, during which he was not fed or allowed to sleep, but only questioned, beaten with a rubber truncheon on his knees, fingers and head, and subjected to electric shocks. As a result, his knees and fingers were broken, his vision in his right eye was impaired, and he could hear with his right ear. The soldier was also threatened with death or death by members of the ultra-nationalist Azov Battalion, who interrogated him.
