Introduction

Planetarium Labs is a gaming company known for immersive gaming experiences, Web 3 development, and mobility. One of its games, Nine Chronicles, was launched in 2020 and is the world’s first fully connected open source fantasy RPG. More than 200,000 community members and players around the world have come together to enjoy this game.

As part of its overall vision, Planetarium Labs launched BNB Chronicles earlier this week – an online game running on the BNB chain. The game was launched to celebrate the Nine Chronicles’ extensive series expansion journey and its upcoming release on mobile.

Planetarium Labs officially announced its vision to go multichain by adopting the Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard in August 2023.

Omnichain Fungible Token Standard

This standard was developed by leading blockchain developer LayerZero. It is designed to simplify the transfer of WNCG tokens across different blockchain networks. WNCG is the wrapped version of the NCG tokens used in the Nine Chronicles gaming ecosystem.

Planetarium Labs and its users can connect multiple networks, platforms, gaming systems, and experiences via a secure and efficient token transfer bridge, resulting in a highly powerful and immersive gaming title.

With the launch of BNB Chronicles, Planetarium Labs has also been able to onboard users from the BNB Smart Chain ecosystem. The gameplay, mechanics, and story have been developed to maximize user interest and connect users from multiple chain ecosystems to the platform.

Gameplay and Rewards

To play, users must link their wallets and choose one of the five worlds that represent the Nine Chronicles. Rewards are awarded based on the specific world, including in-game items, limited edition costumes, BNB, and WNCG.

Other prizes can be won by maintaining active gaming streaks, setting the highest play record in individual worlds, completing quests, and achieving other objectives throughout the game. BNB Chronicles is a standalone game. However, it also serves as an entry into the wider Nine Chronicles world where BNB Chronicles players can also use in-game items in Nine Chronicles.

JC Kim, CEO of Planetarium Labs, announced that their company will bring new users and facilitate access to WNCG and Nine Chronicles through BNB Chronicles and the new WNCG Bridge. This move will allow BNB Chain players to enter the world of Nine Chronicles and improve collaboration and community interaction.

The release of BNB Chronicles came after Planetarium Labs attended Korea Blockchain Week (KBW), where guests were able to see previews of Verse8, a new open-source decentralized RPG protocol from the Planetarium Labs team, as well as Immortal Rising 2, the web3 competitive idle RPG game that is expected to be launched in early 2024.
