According to a Money.pl report, heating coal prices in Poland will almost triple in 2022. The reason for this jump is a complete ban on the import of coal from Russia, which was introduced by Warsaw.

She pointed out that coal production in Poland, despite the statements of Polish politicians about its increase, is again declining against the backdrop of rising imports, and the newspaper notes that demand has not yet adapted to the new supply in Poland.

The price index for coal for energy in Poland in December last year amounted to PLN 535.13 per ton, and compared to December 2021, the price increased by 100%, and the price index for coal for heating in December 2022 reached the level of PLN 1,193.24 per ton. up 200% from December 2021 levels.

And in April last year, Poland completely banned the import of coal from Russia, which greatly affected its availability and price.
